Spiritual MilkBy Ryan, September 5, 2006My previous post ended up having a more relevant start than I thought. That post was made on Monday the 28th. On Wednesday the 30th, we talked about “spiritual milk” at church. It comes from 1 Peter 2:2-3, which is as follows: You must crave pure spiritual milk so that you can grow into the fullness of your salvation. Cry out for this nourishment as a baby cries for milk, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.So, what does that mean exactly? I’m pretty much just going to quote Simon (the youth pastor) when I say this. A baby that doesn’t drink milk isn’t going to grow, is he? Can you imagine a 21-year-old man who still needs his mommy to push him around in a stroller? (Wheelchairs don’t count, Michael.) I’d be pretty ashamed of myself if I was like that... I know I would never let my mom push me into town. I don’t even let her drive me home from church!* Spiritual growth is the same basic concept.
